On this road trip we skipped all of the normal Japanese destiantions like Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka.  If you are interested in reading more, please see some of my earlier trips - Japan and a Second trip to Japan.

	Kumamoto Terribly jet lagged, we were glad to have Eric's house to stay at.  I visited the Suizenji-koen Garden (Mark slept in) and a wonderful lantern festival. (Days 1-3)
	Ebino Kogen Of course you go camping in Japan!  The village of Ebino Kogen is in Kirishima National Park, a volcano area.  We found my so far favorite waterfall and a Kirishima Shrine
	Ibusuki At the southern end Kushu is a Ibusuki - a tourist town with great Sand Baths and other attractions.
	Sakurajima One of the most active volcanos in Japan has Furusato Onsen - a mixed shine and Onsen.  Of course every once and while every well on the Island becomes a potential Onsen.
	Matsuyama Our adventure on Shikoku begins.  We visit Dogo Onsen - about 1000 years older than christianity, Ishite-ji - the 51st of the 88 shrines on the pilgrimage route, and Matsuyama-jo - the Castle named for the city (or is that the other way around?).
	Kochie A food market, a paper place and a really nice hotel
