Knot Around Anchor
This is Bull Kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana) that has been dislodged from the bottom (you can see the anchor in the lower right hand corner of the frame) and become knotted and then washed into shore. This plant is an annual - it dies every winter. Species: Nereocystis luetkeana (Bull Kelp)
