Lillooet Valley Before Moonrise
The moon came up minutes after this picture. The timing wasn't great - the sun had barely set when the moon was due to come up so there was no dark sky to see stars. If it were later in the month, you wouldn't have to drive far from Lillooet to see the milky way.

Big Dipper Over The Trees
The camera was propped up on a picnic table and angled up using my wallet . At 28mm, I don't have a very wide angle lens. The moon was out which is why the trees were so well lit up.

Camp Fire With Stars
This is a three minute exposure which is all I could do with the camp fire in the scene. It was a partly cloudy night so I wasn't ever going to get a great star picture.

Anchored At Night
I like how the stars are actually clusters of dots and the boat rocked side to side (one period) and rotated (second period).

Lakeside Tents At Night
We stayed up long enough to see the Milky way - it was worth the time.

Tent With Night Sky
Helen used her head light for 6 seconds to light up this 6+ minute exposure.

Orion Above Trees

Orion is the bright stars in the lower right corner. You can see the bright triple of stars
in the belt and three stars (middle one red) of the sword.

Stars Above House

This was a 10 minute expose at f1.4. The lights in the house we're very dim.

Camp Fire And Stars Above The Curve
you could quite clearly see the Milky Way here. I have a picture but of course the plant turned and made everything blurry!
