Sunken Garden
This is the Sunken Garden - in my mind the crown jewel of the garden. For a comparison, look at 12 years earlier and two generations earlier technology.

Cut Block With Frost
Logged out clear cuts are usually an eye sore but with the frost and the forest behind, it made an interesting panorama.

Vancouver With Rainbow
This rainbow didn't last very long - 10 minutes later and the rainbow was gone.

Vancouver View With Christmas Lights
This is more blue - there is no light from the sky and there are lots of Christmas lights.

Two Sets Of Fireworks
The far set is at Ambleside, the near set is close to Canada Place. The two shows were more or less synchronized.

Sunrise
Snow is also quite rare and I don't think this patch lasted more than a week. This morning surprised me because there was a golden Vancouver with a snowy neighborhood around me.

Foggy Morning
Fog surprisingly isn't that common here. For a few days we seemed to get it every morning and this morning the city happened to get fog but my part of the city didn't have it. Out came the camera. (Three images seamed).

City Lights
Human perception of this lighting really doesn't match what the camera sees - to people this looks very dark.

Desert Center
This is the boardwalk setup around this patch of desert.

DRAOTelescopes On Rail
They move the dishes so that over time they can fill in all the positions.

Courtyard
That kid in the middle really wanted to be my tour guide.

Guise Bay
At this point the wind is blowing pretty good and it's just starting to rain. The thing to notice here is the line of fence posts that help keep the grass here. Those posts were probably set 100 years ago.

After Dinner Sunset
I didn't bring a really wide angle lens so it was hard to give a sense of this beach.

Meadow Near Hansen Lagoon
I imagine the ditches have a way of widening in the winter rain.

Bridge Over Fishermans River
I wonder how long a downed tree like that will work as a bridge.

Down Bridge
This is a three shot panorama while I'm riding. The feeling of biking down the middle of the bridge is fantastic!

Helliwell Cliffs
This slowly eroded cliff is quite different from what you normally find.
