Bewicks Wren In Cedar
At first I thought this was a brown creeper, but when I got home and looked it up in the books, I found it was a kind of bird I hadn't seen before.
Species: Thryomanes bewickii (Bewick's Wren)

Blue Dasher On Rolled Up Pond Lilly
Most dragonflies are territorial - these ones seemed to really enjoy fighting
Species: Pachydiplax longipennis (Blue Dasher)

Western Painted Turtle Near Rock Wall
I really struggled with the question of if this is an aquarium escapee or a wild turtle. This pond is part of the watershed that leads to Blenkinsop Lake and then to Swan Lake - both have Western Painted Turtles. It's possible that this individual came up from those lakes following a stream. Maybe.
Species: Chrysemys picta bellii (Western painted turtle)

Bullfrog Floating In Pond
This frog didn't do much - he did swim away when I tried to get closer.
Species: Rana catesbeiana (American Bullfrog)

Dragonfly With Nymph Skin
This isn't the dragonfly that just crawled out of the pond - the dragonflies liked this perch and regularly pushed each other off of it. I'm not even sure that is the skin of a dasher - there are other species of dragonflies in this pond.
Species: Pachydiplax longipennis (Blue Dasher)

Sea Blush
There was a large patch of this native plant. It made me smile. I wish I used more DOF and a tripod.
Species: Plectritis congesta (seablush)

Pond With Iris And Willow
I'm not that good at taking "park" shots - wide angles that capture a whole scene. I like how this one came together.
Species: Iris pseudacorus (paleyellow iris, yellow flag)

Paddle-tailed Darner
This dragonfly didn't stop very much, but it did the same route around the pond a lot.
Species: Aeshna palmata (Paddle-tailed Darner)

Varied Thrush
This guy was difficult to get a photo of - as soon as it saw me, it flew away never to return.
Species: Ixoreus naevius (Varied Thrush)

Claira Found Caterpillar
Claira found a caterpillar walking across the trail. She didn't want to pick it up in her hand, but she was okay with using a stick.
Species: Pyrrharctia isabella (banded woollybear)
