Namu used to be a self contained fish processing area - it made tons of Ice that
would be put on the boats to pack the freshly caught fish.

Fan Belts in the General Store

The general store in Namu was very well equipped.  I'm not sure
why this stock wasn't sold in a larger city.

Back Side of Hotel in Namu

The hotel is starting to break down.  It's a two story building that could
house perhaps 50 people.

Broken Hotel in Namu

The hotel has seen better days.  The weeds have grown up to the walls and the windows
are broken.  The elements are getting inside which is causing rot.

Hallway in the Namu Hotel

I'm not sure how much longer this hotel will be standing.  Some of the hotel is in great
shape but other areas (exposed to the elements) are starting to detoriate.

View from Hotel - Namu

You can see the decayed boardwalk and the fuel tanks.  The local caretakers
have built a walk way around the colapsed section to give access to some of the other
buildings and the lake behind.

Filters in the General Store

The general store in Namu was very well equipped.  I'm not sure how
current these filters are - it's possible they will still save a boat trip for someone.

Seasoning Centre in the Namu Store

The store closed down at least five years ago but not all the stock was cleared.   It
made me wonder how old the seasonings were at my local store!

Dusk Shot in Namu BC

Store on Wharf at Namu

Namu used to be a self contained fish processing area - The store was large and could suply
the ships with both their food needs and equiptment for boat repair.  The building on the left
is a restaurant/diner.

Blocks in the Forest

I don't know what these two blocks are - the are obviously man made,
but I don't know what for. I took another photo here eight years later.

Old Mining Shack

This shack (which is falling down) apparently used to house miners.
Between 1955 and 1963, several companies carried out exploration and development programs close to Silverdaisy Creek.

The Broken Building Next Door

This is the broken resort next to us - the Kona Lagoon.
It's a 454 room resort that closed in 1988 and never reopened.
