Banff in Mid Week

A nice escape from the Big City

In 2002, I did a road trip out to Calgary, visiting a number of spots in BC and Mike in Calgary.  That trip had lots of driving, much not much in depth exploring.  This visit to Mike, I wanted to spend more time in a concentrated area and that area turned out to be Banff.

Sights around the Town of Banff

We arrived in Banff on Tuesday in the early afternoon - lots of time to do a bit of local exploring and get a sense of the lay of the land.

Bourgeau Lake

I wanted to do at least 1 substantial hike while I was in the Banff area.  The weather looked good so we took a trip up to Bourgeau Lake.  Who knew it would be so cold up there.

Trip North

I wanted to walk on the Athabasca Glacier with a camera for a while - I hoped to day would be the day.

Johnston Canyon

This is the third time I've visited Johnston canyon and every time it is different.  It's the most popular hike in Banff National park and deserves it just for it's accesability alone.
Walking In The Hills

The Badlands at Drumheller

OK - not really Banff, but a good visit none the less.
