Bar-tailed Godwit They have a funny behaviour where they still their bill in all the way to their face. They seemed pretty successful at pulling food out of the sand.

Black Bellied Plovers You can see a mix of belly colours here. The black ones are probably multi-year olds and the white ones are probably in their first year.

Mixed Flock This has the bar-tailed Godwit with the black bellied plovers to give a comparison for size. If the bird has it's beak out, it's easy to spot but if it's sleeping or beak in the sand, it blends in pretty well.
