First walking down into the canyon. I believe that last point is called The Battleship.

Plateau

This is one of my favorite shots.  The scan is a little blad, it's one of the first I did and needs to be redone.

Featherleaf Desertpeony I like to take two photos of plants - one is an identification shot that has the leaves and much more depth of field and a second that highlights the aspect of the plant I want to show. This is the second shot.

Rufous-crowned Sparrow Sparrows are hard - there are many and the features to tell them apart are often subtle.

Small Ballmoss With Flowers I was really surprised to see these - they are "air plants" - plants that grow without roots in the soil. These plants are pretty benign to their hosts and are often for sale in garden stores for $20 in a kitschy hanging pot. They also make spotting birds hard because the visual field is no longer most thin lines with the odd ball of bird.

Despite the name "ballmoss", this is not a moss.

Cedar Sage These have a more than passing resemblance to Scarlet Gilia, but again, not related.
