Trail Up Hill

This is a small field close to Duck Creek.  I liked the foggy day.

Tree On Hilltop
I like the contrast of blues and tans.

Field Of Snow Geese
There were dogs (on leash) walking along the top of the field - birds were mostly okay with it.

Field Of Hellebore
These will grow to be about 4 feet tall.

Beach Side Field
This whole field is Nodding Onion. I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually native agriculture from hundreds of years ago. The smell of onions was quite strong when we walk through this path.

Pumpkins In A Flooded Field
I heard Pumpkins were a bumper harvest this year - I suspect the small and misshapen were left behind.

Flooded Field Of Pumpkins
This was a across the road from a field full of snow geese. I guess they don't like landing in pumpkin fields.

Daisies with Picnic Table

This is classic BC Parks for me - a field of daisies, there trademark picnic tables
and a beautiful blue sky.

Old Trafford
I felt like I knew this pitch even before I got on the tour - it was the primary stadium used in the FIFA game I had worked on for years. We were on a fixed tour path - walk down these step, walk this way, walk out.

Farm Stay
You get a feeling for how this is a dryer part of New Zealand.

Meadow Near Hansen Lagoon
I imagine the ditches have a way of widening in the winter rain.

Gassho Homes With Mountains
I wonder if they would normally leave their fields flooded in the winter. Some fields had fish in them, but not all.

Circular Rice Paddy
The circular pattern meant that this rice was destined for offering to the deities. Only clean water was put into this field and fertilization was limited. It's nice to see agriculture occurring in a museum.

Barn Out In Fields
The fields have been terraced so they can be flooded to grow rice.

Terraced Fields
It's hard to estimate just how much work went into making these fields level like this.

Mountains Around Resort
This is a burning season so we never got clear vistas.
