Road Side Lupine
The Arctic version generally has 6 to 8 leaves in each cluster but the large-leaved version generally has 8 and up leaves in each cluster.

Rhodos up Hatchethead

These were the only Rhodos in bloom, but in a few more weeks I'm sure that most of them would be blooming.
I think this one was special because it was in a large clearing and probably gets more sun that the rest.

This orchid was growing in a few meters from Twentysix Mile Creek.

Common Red Paintbrush - Castilleja miniata

As we ascended up Hatchethead Mountain we encountered a clearing with Paintbrush.  As we continued to ascend,
the paintbrush thinned out and disappeared again.

Western Trillium - Trillium ovatum

The Trillium were fairly common along the trail - this one had a nice combination of light and relativly free of flaws.

Subalpine Fleabane, Subalpine Daisy
I love when flowers really isolate like this - good luck with finding the leaves for a species identification but it does make for a nice image.

The butterfly was actually quite common up in the alpine.
