Bog Orchid Stacked
This is a tricky plant to get a decent depth of field photo. It tried taking a few photos at different depths but without a tripod that is quite tricky to do. This is 3 images stacked.
Great Burnet With Butterfly
The flower is quite striking. The butterfly was a nice touch. I thought this was a European Skipper at the time, but it quite clearly isn't.
Frosty Drummonds Cinquefoil
Love it when the species is actually a "species complex". Thistle is another example - many look similar and might be hybrids.
Juvenile Golden-Crowned Kinglet
The Juvenile's do look quite different from the mature examples. This bird was gleening as part of a larger flock. By the time I got my camera on a tripod, the flock had mostly moved on.
I have another photo with a better view of the wing bars.
Pacific Fritillary On Sitka Valerian
I've been having a lot of trouble taking photos of butterflies recently - they just don't stop moving. This one did so I took lots of photos.
Canadian Burnet
At first I thought this was bear grass but as I got closer I realized it was something different. I needed to ask the UBC Botanical Garden Forum to figure out what it is.
