At the time I figured it was probably a European Skipper. I'm learning there are more butterflies that share the general size of skippers.

Long Legged Anabrus
From the long spike on his tail, I thought this was a invasive katydid like a Drumming Katydid. I was correct on the Katydid, but wrong on the species and story. This thing is native.

Cabbage Whites Mating On Seed Head
Not moths - their antenna aren't feathery. This is a male and female mating. Cabbage White's are an invasive (and very plentiful) species.

Immature Cherry-faced Meadowhawk
This is the first time I've seen a difference between mature and immature dragonflies. The Immature ones are orange, mature are red.

Introduced Species from Europe. This little guy eats pretty much only knapweed so they were released. We found this guy on a cement barrier.

Western Tiger Swallowtail Drinking
I was shocked to see this butterfly stop and sit. It was pretty early in the morning and there weren't a lot of flowers around, but I was really surprised by my luck.
