Sunglasses Ready For Hiking
You can see quite a bit of beetle kill in the background. The staff told us the big die off started about 10 years before. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2022 to 2005 > Cathedral > Sunglasses Ready For Hiking

My Car At The End Of The Road
The road up is mostly fine except for one steap part with large rocks sticking up. I was glad I had my high clearance car. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Levette Lake > My Car At The End Of The Road

Slopes Burning As We Drive By
This is three images seamed together by hand. Because it was shot from a moving car, the image don't line up very well. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Slopes Burning As We Drive By

Forest Fire From Campsite
The kids stayed in their car seats in the truck - we didn't want to lose one. In hindsight, we probably shouldn't have parked the truck facing the fire. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Forest Fire From Campsite

Good Creek Fire
The fire was started by a lighting strike the day before. The Okanagan Mountain Park fire was in the same general area so there wasn't much fuel left for this fire to burn. I setup my tripod in the door of the car while I waited in the lineup to get to our camp site (close to the Mount Enas fire). This is a photo every 10 seconds. I needed to do quite a bit of stabilization in post because the tripod wasn't super stable. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Good Creek Fire

Mount Enas Fire
As we got closer to the Mount Enas Fire, we got a better view of the extent of it. 10 second gap between photos. Some stabilization between frame 10 and 150 when we weren't moving. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Mount Enas Fire

Frosty Deactived Road
I loved the light in this shot. It's really hard to show on a small image, but on a larger image (where you can see detail), it's cool. The only real colour is the red "deactivated" sign. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2022 to 2005 > December 2009 > Frosty Deactived Road
