Beam Of Light From Ceiling
On the way in, we didn't see this spectacular display of light - on the way out the sun had changed position and we were treated.

Palm Tree With Blue Sky
Palm Tree With Blue Sky. If I had to guess, I would say it is a coconut palm - Cocos nucifera. You can see seeds in the leaves.

Land Crab Going Into Burrow
I had never seen a land crab before. This crab is quite a long way from beach (perhaps a km) but apparently they do return to breed.
Species: Gecarcinus ruricola (purple land crab)

Land Hermit Crab
This is the second land crustacean in this area. He hid as soon as we stopped.
Species: Coenobita clypeatus (land hermit)

Truck Selling Fruit
I wonder if either the apples or the grapes were grown locally.

Pool Bar
This is two images seemed together - I did a really poor job taking these photos - the camera wasn't actually that close in orientation or position so please excuse the rough treatment. The sun set pretty close to 6pm each night, but the bar stayed open as long as there were customers - generally until 8 or 9pm. You could always get drinks at the restaurant.

Puerto Rican Crested Anole From Behind
Hate it when you don't get the eyes focused. You can tell from the largest image that this is crop. I used to think this was a Gecko (Tropics right?) but turns out it isn't even close.
Species: Anolis cristatellus (Puerto Rican crested anole)

Puerto Rican Crested Anole Side Shot
I'm pretty sure this Puerto Rican crested anole. They have flaps of skin on their tailes and throats but neither is showing in these photos.
Species: Anolis cristatellus (Puerto Rican crested anole)

Palm Tree Silhouettes
I like how palm trees blur in the wind. We were walked down the beach from our All inclusive and the sun set in the Dominican Republic turned out to be bother sooner and faster than I expected. The twilight made for some great long exposures.
