Flare
Normally, there is no way I would use this picture - I generally don't like flawed image capture and the I doubt I could come up with a worse case of flare (the waterproof case had water on the front of it). That said, it gives you a pretty good sense of just how nice it was out there to paddle.

Undercut Rock Wall
This is just North of Montegue Harbour. The rock seems to be very soft and is eroded by the waves splashing up.

Seals on Island
We tried to sneak up on them, but a drive past might have been a smarter technique. Velvia is not the film to do this type of shot.

End of Bodega Ridge
This is the end of the spectacular views on our hike of Bodega Ridge. The city on the top right is Nanimo. The closest island is part of . Behind that is the end of Salt Spring, behind that (and the freighter) is Tent Island. To the right of Tent Island is Kuper Island.

View Towards Nanaimo
This is the ridge part of the hike. The bush on the right hand side is Hairy Manzanita, endemic to the Low coastal mountains from southern British Columbia to central California. The closest island (far left) is Wallace Island (a park). Going right, the smaller island behind is Jackscrew Island, part of the Secretary Islands.

View West from Light House
This is the view from the light house off towards Japan. Those waves are rolling in from Siberia, and don't stop till they hit the coast.
