Tree Lungwort Growing On Cottonwood
I have never seen Lungwort growing on Cottonwood like this. We have lots of Cottonwood, but this plant is new to me.

The notches in this tree were (mostly likely) made by first nations peoples looking to fall the tree for a pole or a canoe. They investigated the quality of the tree and decided to stop for whatever reason (rot, cracks or something else).
