Sheet Piles In Beaver Lake
The war with the Beavers in Beaver Lake goes back decades. The humans are brining out the big guns here - sheet piles will be an interesting challenge for a beaver.

Claira Feeding Baby Mallards
I think Claira's hope was that the baby birds would come up and eat out of her hand. The birds stayed in the water but did convince Claira to throw food to them.

Bullfrog Covered In Bugs
Only when you look at the detail do you see the hundreds of smaller bugs on the frog and leaves. I'm guessing they can't bite the frog or else the frog would have gone crazy by now.
Species: Rana catesbeiana (American Bullfrog)

Male Wood Duck Reflected
The light was quite contrasty. I got low to get a better angle. These ducks are really used to being fed - they came in close when the food came out, but never as close as the Mallards.
Species: Aix sponsa (Wood Duck)

Pacific Wren
This is the first time I've managed to get a photo of this species. I've seen them before and they are willing to get close to people, but they just don't stop moving.
Visually, this bird looks a lot like a Winter Wren. While Winter Wrens do occur in BC, they don't occur in the Lower Mainland.
Species: Troglodytes pacificus (Pacific Wren)

Saiwash Rock Sunset
You can see the tide is going out over the course of this video. There was a Great Blue Heron fishing from the rock but it did eventually fly away.
354 pictures, taken between 9:03pm and 10:34pm, roughly every 16 seconds.
