Purple Finch Male
I believe this is a purple finch, not a house finch. I believe that because the red goes most places (I have a bum picture), the prominent light band on the head and the crest.
Western Tanger Female On Scotch Broom
I've seen the much more dramatic males in the interior but I have yet to take a photo of one. I'm guessing if a female is here, there is probably a male as well somewhere.
Tree Swallows Mating
I have photos of these two birds actually doing the act - this seems a bit more romantic. I can just imagine what she is saying. Surprisingly, this shot is handheld at 800mm.
Cotton Wood And Brown Eyed Susan At Sunset
This is a two image stack - the background was shot separate from the flowers because I couldn't get them both in focus without motion blur on the flowers.
Male Yellowthroat Singing
These birds tend to hide in the brush, slowly working their way to the top, and then they drop down. This individual seemed to spend a lot of time at the top of the bush.
