Kids Touching Plates On Sturgeon
Our kids like to touch dead fish. I blame the finger tanks at the aquarium - anything dead, they want to hold it. Species: Acipenser transmontanus (white sturgeon)

Claira Feeding Baby Mallards
I think Claira's hope was that the baby birds would come up and eat out of her hand. The birds stayed in the water but did convince Claira to throw food to them. Tags: Stanley Park

Nara With Clarks Nutcracker
I find it funny that the only place I have seen this species is this parking lot. These birds are smart - they know what hand outs look like. Thought this was the the first photo that has all three icons - a tagged person, a species identified (not in a zoo) and a location. Turns out this is the sixth time it has happened and it's even the second time I put a comment to that effect. Tags: bird

Claira With Stary Flounder
This fish was dead, but recently so. It still twitched when touched. It's face appeared to have been eaten by a bird. I believed this was the first photo I took to be tagged with a person, species and location, but some data queries proved me wrong, this is the third photo to get an "icon triple". People: Claira
Species: Platichthys stellatus (starry flounder)

Claira Looking At An Inch Worm
I spent quite a bit of time looking up this thing - I think it's a Winter Moth - Operophtera brumata. Introduced species, likes to eat leafy trees. I believe the chickadee's like to feed these to the babies. Tags: Richmond Nature Park
