I only saw this once in Sham Shui Po. The Fabric was cheap (maybe 24HKD per year - roughly $4 CAD per yard). I bought 2 yards x 3 colors of traditional (but not expensive) cloth.
Buying Thread In Lots Of Six
Buying cones is quite a commitment. I didn't understand why she had 6 of each color. When she is working she uses both a serger (4 cones) and a pro sewing machine.
This is at the Saturday Market in Ganges. The quality of the locally made materials is top notch. If I could afford the price tags I world like to give or keep these blankets!
