This looks like hard rock - there is only one channel and the rocks are smooth.

I was just wondering how you got the water on your Numa Falls (http://www.johnharveyphoto.com/BCRoadTrip/Day3/VeiledFalls.html) to look like that sort of glowing sparkle to it. Short Exposure, Long Exposure?

Good question. The exposure (This is slide film so I don't have it recorded) was probably between 1/2 of a second and 4 seconds. You can't get this effect with a short exposure. I'm not sure what you mean by sparkle. If it's the very bright region on the left (upstream), I'm guessing it's two things - first the water may have been lit differently (few trees up river, but the canyon was enclosed) and then "exposure" when the slide was scanned - by brightening (I scanned at 16bit) that area was blown out.
