Orcinus orca (killer whale, orca) |
This was the first whale of this sighting I was able to identify. The catalog of Biggs Orca lists something like 200 whales and kindly shows both sides of the whale and both eye patches. It took me two passes of the catalog to find this whale and I was somewhat frustrated to find the rest of this party isn't part of the T146 family. This whale (T146D) is famous - back in 2021 she was left high and dry on the rocks of Prince of Wales Island (Across Dixon Entrance in Alaska).
