The closest building is now a lodge but I believe it used to be a telecom building or a bank. The buildings behind it used to be apartments and a hotel but now they are abandoned.

The building was a CIBC Bank The lodge is up for sdale for $500,000

I lived and worked in Ocean falls for almost 4 years in the early 70's. In both the Machine Room which is where the actual paper making operation was, and in the Yard Auto Pool, driving various pieces of machinery and Dump Trucks. I was also on the townsite and industrial Fire Dept's. My son was conceived here. I owned a house in Martin Valley.

I lived in Ocean Falls from 1957-61 where I started grade 1. It was my father's first posting as a Forest Ranger. On Halloween the whole town lined up along the boardwalk to watch fireworks off the tugboats. We walked up to the dam above town, to picnic and swim below the floodgates, terrified it would open any minute. We lived in the first floor of the Maple Apartments near the big hotel which caught fire, and beside Mr. Mawn's, the Pawnbroker.
