Two Sandhill Cranes Flying By
We saw a predator in the trees (Owl? Hawk?) so I had my big lens out hoping to see it. I heard the characteristic croaking of these birds (they are easy to see at the Reifel bird sanctuary) and then tried my best at a panning shot.
Long Legged Anabrus
From the long spike on his tail, I thought this was a invasive katydid like a Drumming Katydid. I was correct on the Katydid, but wrong on the species and story. This thing is native.
