On our first night we did a little driving - first we tried the lovers leap, wonderful
view but not for sunsets.  On the drive back we stopped into Retreat cove and got this!

The government dock was a great place to get some sunset shots.

The Subaru Telescope isn't a traditional dome.

On the left is the Subaru Telescope.  On the right is Keck I and II, the multi segmented mirror telescopes.

That's our convertible in the foreground.  It was a wonderful sunset - around 6:30pm.

This is a several second exposure - the water washes over the rock and where it's white it is rendered as fog.

It was sunset, overcast but not raining at this sunset.  The buildings in the foreground
are the townhomes and our apparment block is one street back.

It seemed funny to me that they had the mailboxes well before they had houses. These are the
same mail boxes as my Parents house - I'm guessing they show up in most new developments.

A power boat had raced by a few minuets before and sent a pretty big wake to shore.
The shutter time is about 1/30th of a second (and I believe I had 1 stop of extra time over
matrix metering).

There were many postcards with images similar to this on them.

We went out to play in the waves most nights. See the "gods rays" in the clouds on the left? Annoying to have the tripod so far away.

This is a view from the resort looking west.

We are sailing from the South Bentinck Arm to the North,
going towards Bella Coola.  The water is creamy with
glacial runoff.

The mountain (it's about 5000 feet high) is unnamed on the topo maps and
in the Names database.
