Just as the sun set, the domes started to open and turn. There is motion blur on the multi second exposure.
On the left is the Subaru Telescope. On the right is Keck I and II, the multi segmented mirror telescopes.
The Subaru Telescope isn't a traditional dome.
This is the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope.
The further one is the Hawaii - France - Canada Telescope. The closer is the Gemini Northern 8 meter telescope.
The thin air up there has less than 70% of the oxygen we are used to so even a short hike (and this was short) is tiring.
We had some time too kill after the tour before the sunset so we went for a windy, breathless walk.
The Radio telescopes were scattered all around the peak. We are standing on the summit.
