Swimming In Dark Ocean
Helen shot this image from about 3 or 4 meters up so the water appears very dark. If you put your head underwater, it's very soupy. Tags: swimming

Lytton Waterslide
Have I mentioned this is one of my favorite pools in the whole world? Beautiful mountains all around, desert air, sometimes windy. It's a big pool with a shallow shallow end. The staff have always been really helpful. We have visited twice now. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2021 to 2005 > Lillooet > Lytton Waterslide

Claira Carrying Nara
Claira thought it was hilarious that she could carry Nara. You can see the trestle in the background. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Claira Carrying Nara

Nara Carrying Claira
This part of the lake is shallow so there is lots of lake you can bounce around. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > Nara Carrying Claira

In The Lake From Trestle
There is a small current where the lake drains here. We didn't have life jackets for the kids so we wouldn't let the kids go swimming here. The trestle is from the Kettle Valley Railway and is now part of the trans Canada trail. John Harvey Photo > John Harvey Photo - Camping > Okanagan Camping 3 > In The Lake From Trestle

Claira really doesn't like water in her eyes so she likes her goggles. Tags: swimming

Nara Swimming Deep
Nara with a life jacket is approximately fearless. She swam out to the limit of the swimming area. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2021 to 2005 > Shuswap Camping > Nara Swimming Deep

Tourist Info Centre
The Tourist Info Centre is one end of the pool. We stopped in - they were super nice, giving us guidance for crossing the river later in the day. The kids wore their life jackets because with one parent and two kids, it would be pretty easy to have an accident. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2021 to 2005 > Lillooet > Tourist Info Centre

Swimming Contest
Nara wanted a swimming contest against her sister which was in no way fair. Nara gave her a huge head start and then swam like crazy to catch up. I had to slow down Nara twice and she still won, but just barely. Claira was okay with that. I love the view of the mountain from the swimming pool.
