Humpback Diving
We did get closer than this, but I had a kid rather than a camera as the focus of my attention.

Humpback Whale Blow

The shutter speed was a bit too slow here. The timing is good though.

The male Dorsel Fins are impressive. They stand out in a group and when the they get close
they are easy to spot.

Harbour Porpoises in Bentinck Arm

There were about 25 whales traveling together in little groups of about 5 whales.
They would surface about three times and then stay under for about a minute.

Skeleton in the Whale Interpretive Centre (Telegraph Cove)
This is a composite of 4 images in Hugin. The black in the upper corners is my lack of planning. The whale is a Fin Whale.

Pod Swimming By
We were starting to pull away when this pod popped up. That is likely a young whale between the two females and you can see the larger male dorsal fin with a wave in it.
Species: Orcinus orca (killer whale, orca)

Orca Breaching Composite
The whale doesn't need to get this far out of the water to breath - she (short dorsal fin) is looking at us.

Long Exposure Porpoise
The porpoise was riding the pressure wave and I went to take a snap without checking the exposure time - probably about half a second.
