Climbing Around Stairs
The speckled light of being in the forest makes for fun. Around this point, some people started asking for me to take photos - or at least take some time to set up my tripod and take it down again so they could catch their breath.

Jin Climbing Along Wall
Climbing all this chain up here would have been a lot of work.

Unnamed Lake
This is a 4 image panorama with extensive painting in the lower right corner. I was so tempted to push up to that ridge - maybe half an hour away - but it just wasn't the right thing to do.

Mark In Alpine Area
It's some time after 10am and it's becoming obvious we aren't going to be heated by the sun any time soon.

View At Bourgeau Lake
This is a three image panorama - I have more images of the bottom, but the exposure is so rough (it's all shadown on rock, snow and ice), that they don't scan well.

Walking In The Hills
This place is just so different from where we normally go for a walk.

Walking In Desert
Usually we are swamped in trees - having open views is nice.

Curved Bridge

I like how these bridges are made out of local materials. The deck seems
to be made of the cedar.

David And Mark Walking
This road had signs limiting the size of vehicles - no motor bikes over 125cc's.

Walking Back to the Telescopes

The thin air up there has less than 70% of the oxygen we are used to so even a short
hike (and this was short) is tiring.

Mike and Val on Lava

The lava is a lot of fun to walk around on. The lava was about 6km away this day
so it was too long of a walk for us to actually see it.

Walking Devastation Trail

A lava flow in 1959 ejected pumice cinders that covered a large region
down range from the Volcano.  This trail is built on top of the pumice and
shows how life is reclaiming the area.

Walking in Kilauea Iki Crater

It was a little moist (blowing mist), but a lot of fun.
