High Falls
It's somewhat anti climatic because it is hiding in the rock, but the park has made a huge effort to give visitors the best vantage point.

Lower Johnston Falls
6 Images put together - that bar at the bottom is supposed to be straight. Unfortunately, it seems to minimize the size of the falls.

Lower Falls
The lower falls goes into a large basin and then falls to the next largest. There is a lookout cut through the rock to see the large falls. I have a picture of the falls frozen, from a somewhat closer angle.

Mid Falls
This is actually one of my favorite shots from Johnston Canyon - the two falls together is rare to see.

Two Sets Of Falls
I was surprised to find out that some (much?) of the water we find in streams and rivers in the summer is actually melt water. This stream is sourced in the glacier which is rapidly shrinking - what will this place look like when the glacier is gone?

Cascade of Falls

There is a lot of water considering it's August.

Falls And Rays
Paddling around Takachiho gorge was magical. We were there early (about 9am) so the sun was still low. With my velvia, I set up a tripod in the back of the rowboat to stabalize the shots.

Takachiho Falls
The falls are like a veil - softly joining the water. You could paddle pretty close without getting wet.

Twin Falls

This isn't the easiest falls to get to and the light was failing, but
it is a nice set of falls.

Lower Falls of Johnson Canyon

Unlink the - the water here runs under the ice and is insulated from freezing further.

Ice Climbing at Upper Johnson Falls

These lesser ice walls were caused by seaps from above the cliffs.  I
think the slow flows of water are needed to form the sheets that are good
for climbing.

Ice Falls

These Ice falls would leak out of the ground around the Canyon.

Wood Over River

The lighting around this river was spotty and changing - fun
to take pictures of.

Large Falls

This is the largest falls on the river. There doesn't seem to be an unobstructed
view, but trees and rocks does make a nice scene. Here is version in July.

Cascade of Waterfalls

My geography prof said something about the rifle to pool ratio - how long the water will drop
before it needs a pool to collect in.

Smaller River Feeding Main

The time delay causing veiled water effect is nice - I think a freeze
frame of this would have been boring and harder to see.

Little Garden

This small meditating garden (next to an elementary school) was in the same
temple as these

Opaekaa Falls

I quite liked this waterfall because it's surrounded by lush jungle.  I shot
f18 (on a tripod) to try and get more of the water blur.  This is a short drive up
Highway 581, just before Kapaa.

Wailua Falls

Wailua falls is huge. Apparently people used to dive off rim into the pool below.
There is a turn off from Lihue to get there.
