This massive dam used to provide power for the pulpmill and town at Ocean Falls. There are log floats to keep the logs from going over the dam. I wonder how much the wood is worth today.
This is Namu from the Ocean. The large buildings on the left are the remains of the fish processing plant. To the right is the hotel and then the entertainment build and bunk house.
This is current dock in Namu - large vessels can dock (on the left) and smaller boats (like the 90 foot curve of time) can use the water level dock. In the background you can see the hotel, jail and entertainment building.
This is the inland side of Vansittart Island - some what difficult to land a Kayak and pretty much no where to camp. We did find a Kayaking grounp around the corner perched between the beach and the trees.
I'm not sure if this cave is the result of ocean or freshwater erosion, but caves were pretty common in this area. You can see the trees have been sculpted by the wind.
We were coming up the Burke Channel towards the Nootsum River when we saw a Humpback come coming up. The humpback was down for a long time and we lost it.
