Nara In Bouncy Train
This is the first time I've seen a bouncy train. The kids were all well behaved and it was nice to play outside. People: Nara

Victoria Train Barge Scene
This is two images composited together - one with the barge in focus, the other with the train in focus, panning. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2024 to 2005 > November 2016 > Victoria Train Barge Scene

TT Scale Switching Yard In Guitar Case
This is a TT scale scene. The trains move and you can run switching problems (split the middle car from it's neighbors) inside this small setup. Nara had never seen anything like this. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2024 to 2005 > November 2016 > TT Scale Switching Yard In Guitar Case

Far Tube Model Railroad
This is a composite of multiple images to get the depth of field. The light wasn't very bright and I didn't have a tripod. The train in this scene doesn't move (you see pretty much the entire scene). John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2024 to 2005 > November 2016 > Far Tube Model Railroad

Close Tube Model Railroad
I like this scene because of the crazy detail in the trees and the water feature being so prominent. John Harvey Photo > Blogs for 2024 to 2005 > November 2016 > Close Tube Model Railroad

Cisco Bridges
There is no roadside sign pointing out where the view point is, but it wasn't too hard to find once I saw the bridges from the highway. John Harvey Photo > John's Overnight Page > Spences Bridge > Cisco Bridges

Bridges In Lytton
The closer bridge is the Highway 12 to Lillooet. The bridge behind is a rail line. John Harvey Photo > John's Overnight Page > Spences Bridge > Bridges In Lytton

Rising Up Hill
This gives you some sense of the pitch going up the mountain. I like the diagonal windows. People: Mark

Passing The Car Coming Down
This is the half way point where one train passes the other. You can see the cable between the rails. John Harvey Photo > Trips out of the Country > A Fourth Trip to Japan > Mt Koya > Passing The Car Coming Down

Riding Down Mountain
There are two cars that always travel together - one coming up is pulled by the train going down. Where they meet in the middle has two sections of track but for the rest of the mountain there is only one line. Cable Car Waiting
I believe this is Gokurakubashi Station. You get off a regular train that flowly brought you up the valley and then get on the Cable line (the tilted car shown) to get tup the mountain. John Harvey Photo > Trips out of the Country > A Fourth Trip to Japan > Mt Koya > Cable Car Waiting

Bridge Over Bay
Our train ride along the coast often had nice views of the ocean, but for a few seconds, we rode over the ocean. (This is the Yura River) John Harvey Photo > Trips out of the Country > A Second Trip to Japan > Matsumoto > Bridge Over Bay

Local Train
We didn't actually take this train today. The doors at the front of the train open so that it can connect to another train and make a large/longer one. John Harvey Photo > Trips out of the Country > A Second Trip to Japan > Matsumoto > Local Train
