Downy Woodpecker And Pine Siskin
From what my book says, this is classic Pine Siskin behaviour - trying to convince a larger bird to leave the food source so it can have it all to itself. This shot also shows prime Pine Siskin features - forked tail and yellow bar on the wing.
Species: Picoides pubescens (Downy Woodpecker), Carduelis pinus (Pine Siskin)

Sun Through Feet
I like the sun lighting through the skin on the feet and the tail feathers. The bands on the leg are quite clearly visible.
Species: Diomedea sanfordi (Northern Royal Albatross)

Albatross Descending
I like the big bands on it's foot - those are there to recognize an individual without having to capture him/her.

Variable Oyster Catcher
I think this poor guy has three different banding systems around his legs.

Dark Eyed Junko Testing Band
This bird was just banded at the WildResearch station. He probably isn't thrilled having some new weight on his leg.

Hairy Woodpecker
The Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers look very similar but the Hair has a much bigger beak. This one has a large beak.

Woodpecker High In Tree
I believe this is Downy Woodpecker (as opposed to the Hairy woodpecker) based on the length (short) of it's beak. This guy was all wet because it had been raining durring the day.
