This is a several second exposure - the water washes over the rock and where it's white it is rendered as fog.

There is a small black sand beach down there, but standing on it would
kill you after a few waves.  It's certainly impressive.

A power boat had raced by a few minuets before and sent a pretty big wake to shore.
The shutter time is about 1/30th of a second (and I believe I had 1 stop of extra time over
matrix metering).

I'm sure this is great surf conditions, but you wouldn't find me playing in it.
The water seems to move faster here and the next land mass looking out this way is Russia.

Oh boy, you would be dead if you were ever in that surf. Those waves are tens of meters high
and full of energy. The waves crashing into thebay aren't much nicer, they roll
and dump onto rock. Beautiful to watch.

You go Mark! By this point I'd been dumped on the beach with shorts full of sand a few too many times. I was better being photographer.

This shot was inspired by a shot in Mexico . I was never sure I took that shot so I tried it again here. I was in the water without a boogie board and I would swim along with the wave as Mark started to take off.
