Kayaks in the Spider Anchorage
We've come to Spider Anchorage and put the Kayaks in for a paddle. That's part of the Edna Islands behind.

Shell Beach
This is a shell beach on the tip of one of the three sisters Islands. The little red boat is the one we rented.

Doug And Crystal
Doug actually spotted it first - the water and light was so flat it was like paddling on a mirror.

Blue Bat Star
Considering these are supposed to be very common, it took me forever to see my first bat star.

Pulling Up Into Marsh
That is rock weed in the foreground - very slippery over slippery mud. We paddled up as far as we could but in the end we had to lift the Kayaks up to higher ground in the marsh.

Crossing Channel
I love how the water is such an imperfect mirror - it reflects the clouds but so poorly that at first you don't understand why half the photo seems to be blue and the other half gray.

Kayaking In Columnar Basalt
This place could have been the giant's Causeway (from the UK) except for it being really in the middle of nowhere.

Sandy Beach
Usually BC water looks so dark, but it really is about the shore - this rare light sandy beach makes our water look almost tropical.

Kayaking Into Channel
Ryan is Kayaking alone in a double Kayak - a challenge in a strong wind.

Marnie and Diane Kayaking
We are in Montegue Harbour and I'm riding in a Zodiak. That's the wonderful being and the that overlooks it.

Marnie and Diane Loading into a Kayak
This is one of my favorite shots from the weekend. The waves emanating into the glass flat ocean are just cool.

Crossing by San Juan Islands
This trip across the straight got a little rough, I got a little sick, took a little gravol, and had a little nap. I didn't take many pictures on Saturday.

Pat and Jan
Apparently Jan (in the back) is on the verge of hypothermia - the wind was blowing the water off Pat's paddles.
